This piece is part of a custom wood furniture collection called Abyss, alongside wall décor, cocktail tables, side tables, and stools. The entire collection is also inspired by the topographic graphics of natural terrain, each layer representing a unit of height or depth.
The collection’s versatility comes from the fact that, at a graphic level, the pattern can be precisely taken from natural terrain—whether we are talking about a favorite mountain, a volcano, a canyon, a lake, or the client’s favorite place. The design and translation can be done to scale so that each layer represents, for example, 1 m in height, or 5, etc.
